Skill Sessions a Success... Up Next...
The first weekend of CVHA house league hockey started up this past weekend (Sept.17/18) and was a huge success! Our skill sessions had players from U5 all the way up to U18 getting back into it and getting ready for the season! It was fantastic to see our City of Vaughan rinks filled with the sounds of skates cutting up the ice, sticks hitting pucks, and coaches whistles going off! Our amazing coaches ran skill sessions for all our age groups, putting them through their paces and shaking off the summer rust.
Now that the skill sessions are done, what next?
Your Convenors and Coaches have been hard at work drafting teams in every division. Some fantastic work and sportsmanship from all involved, and we want to thank them for all their hard work this past week, it is a lot in a short time!
Teams are being finalized and sent out to the coaches. Parents, you should be expecting a phone call from your coach by Thursday at the latest. This is a great chance for them to introduce themselves, get you caught up with some team details, let you know when you are on the ice this weekend, etc..!
Where do I find where we are practicing and playing?
Schedules for the season will be going up by the end of the week so you will be able to see in advance when you are practicing and playing! Please always refer to the website, as it provides the most accurate information about the time and location of all practices and games.
What is going on this weekend?
This weekend will see our players come out and have practices. It will give them the opportunity to meet their new teammates and their coaches, and of course, practice together as a team! Our U18 division will practice on Saturday and start with an exhibition game this Sunday!
What do I need to bring?
No different than what you brought for the skill sessions! Please make sure that everyone brings their own jersey and socks for this week, as we will be handing out your team jersey for the weekend of October 1/2. Everyone please remember you must have a neck guard to be on the ice, and to bring your own water bottle, no sharing please! Anything else your coaches should let you know, and feel free to ask the anything!
We are excited the 2022-2023 CVHA House League season is now officially underway and look forward to seeing everyone in the rinks!
