CVHA HOUSE LEAGUE ASSISTANT COACH QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
House League Head Coaches are appointed by the House League VP’s based on numerous factors, ranging from sportsmanship and conduct to the number of teams and and past dedication to the program. You do not need to have had previous experience, we all start somewhere! All candidates MUST fill out the CVHA House League Coaching Application form. No coach will be considered without the appropriate forms in place. Coaches are required to register in HCR. This will ensure qualifications are met and all team officials are properly insured.
Assistant Coaches must obtain the following prior to the start of the season:
Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC)*
About: VSCs are required to be uploaded to the OHF Screening Portal.
Expiry: VSCs are valid for 3 years.

About: Completed during the HCR Registration.
Expiry: This Certification is done annually during your registration process with the CVHA

*All coaches, Assistant Coaches, Trainers, and Managers will be subject to a Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) during their first year with the CVHA-House League and every three years thereafter, for as long as they continue to volunteer with the CVHA-House League.
**Sponsoring a team WILL NOT automatically guarantee a coaching position or a choice of bench staff.
**Coaching in more than one Association – As per GTHL Rule 7.15 No Coach may be registered as a Team Official with more than one Team or Club within the CVHA or the GTHL League without receiving permission by the CVHA President and Executive Director of the GTHL.
