Players, Parents and Volunteers
On behalf of our City of Vaughan Hockey Association
Executive, I would like to officially WELCOME all Learn to Play, Jr. Rangers,
House League and Vaughan Rangers Participants, Parents and Volunteers to our
2025/26 hockey campaign.
We are extremely pleased with the increase in hockey
enrollment over the past several seasons within our program and hope it’s to be
a continuing trend. With greater participant numbers, comes a requirement of
additional volunteers. We are grateful to have a terrific volunteer base, as
well as the introduction of new volunteers annually. The success of our program
from the Learn to Play instructors to our Executive Board members, stems from
the fact that we are all volunteers. I can not express enough; how grateful we
are to have a wonderful range of skilled and talented individuals looking to
make a difference. The selfless contributions and efforts in creating memorable
moments and life lessons for the children within the program, is truly
appreciated. On behalf of every child within our Learn to Play, Jr Rangers,
House League and Rangers programs ….. Trainers, Managers, Coaches, Convenors,
Delegates and Executive Board Members ….. THANK YOU!!!
In 1991 the Woodbridge, Maple and Thornhill Hockey
Associations amalgamated, and the City of Vaughan Hockey Association was
formed. 1991 was also the year in which the Township of Vaughan, became the
“City of Vaughan”. In celebrating our “35” Years in hockey this season, we look
forward to an eventful and celebratory year, with collaborative events with the
City of Vaughan in early 2026. In celebrating our 35th Anniversary, we would
like to create a photo library of CVHA House League, Select, “A” or “AA” photos
from yesteryear. If you have any throwback photos of former teams/players, etc.
for which you would like to share, please email them to
[email protected]
For the success of our programs, development, opportunities
and events, requires financial support. This season we are extremely pleased to
announce a Vaughan Rangers partnership through the generous sponsorship of
“Loopstra Nixon – the Official Law Firm of Our Vaughan Rangers”. We look
forward to the creation of a wonderful relationship and the sharing of eventful
opportunities throughout this exciting season.
“The Vaughan Rangers represent teamwork, commitment, and
community spirit. These values align with our firm’s culture and our belief in
giving back to the community. Loopstra Nixon is proud to support the Rangers
and be part of their success.”
-Peter A. Saad, Managing Partner
“Partnering with the Vaughan Rangers as their Official Law
Firm is a meaningful way for us to contribute to a community that we are proud
to now call home. Supporting youth sports not only builds stronger individuals
but stronger communities, and that is something we believe in deeply." –
Quinto Annibale, Partner, and Steven C. Ferri, Partner

Volunteers, Loopstra Nixon LLP – THANK YOU!!
The CVHA “Home of the Vaughan Rangers” was recently awarded
the opportunity to Host the U15 AA Ontario Hockey Federation Championship April 17-19, 2026.
This is exciting news for the CVHA and our U15 AA team Coached by Giancarlo
Di Chiazza, whom have been a very successful team over the years and are
deserving of competing in this prestigious tournament. The CVHA has been
fortunate to be granted the opportunity to host several OHF Championships in
recent years, 2012, 2014 and 2017, which were extremely successful, and
memories created to last a lifetime. I’d like to thank the City of Vaughan’s
Community Recreation Division and Mayor Steven Del Duca for their support of
our bid submission. Mark the dates on your calendar, as it will be a very
exciting competitive weekend of hockey.
The CVHA runs three successful tournaments annually, Vaughan
Regional Silver Stick “AA” Early Bird Tournament, Vaughan Regional Silver Stick
“A” Tournament and the Vaughan Rangers Select Tournament. This season our
tournaments have reached the maximum number of team registrants, which is a
terrific achievement and a reflection of the tournament’s success and
reputation. Our Vaughan Regional Silver Stick “AA” Early Bird was held over the
week of September 22-28 and was a complete success. Congratulations to the
tournament Champions and look forward to our Vaughan Rangers Select Tournament
November 13-16 and our Vaughan Regional Silver Stick “A” Tournament Dec 11-14.
Thank you to our tournament Chairperson Joe Di Maria for his time and energy
put into the organizing and enhancing the tournament experience.
On the eve of our AA, A, Select and House League games
commencing, we would like to wish all players and team officials across our 104
teams, a safe and enjoyable hockey experience. I’d like to thank the Vice
Presidents of the programs, Joe DiMaria, Jason Cohn and Laurie Morris for their
efforts throughout the tryouts, player assessments and player selection process
in the successful forming of the various teams. Best of luck to all!!
For our fourth season, the CVHA
Mentorship program has generated terrific interest. This program was introduced
to our House League Program four years ago by our Executive Board Member Laurie
Morris. We are extremely pleased to announce for the second consecutive season,
there are over 60 Mentors enrolled for this season. It is absolutely enjoyable and
inspiring to see these 15–18-year-old player mentors, working with our younger
House League participants. Laurie and CVHA Mentors…..Thank you!!
