The City of Vaughan Hockey Association proudly closed out another outstanding Hockey Day in Vaughan (HDIV) with one of the most anticipated events of the season — the annual U18 CVHA All-Star Game.
Hockey Day in Vaughan is a celebration of everything CVHA represents, showcasing the full breadth of our program from U5 Mini-Mites through to our Junior Rangers, House League, Vaughan Rangers Select, A, and AA teams. The day highlights not only the development pathway available to players, but also the sense of community, sportsmanship, and pride that defines hockey in Vaughan. The U18 All-Star Game served as a fitting finale to a day dedicated to our athletes, coaches, families, and volunteers.
The All-Star Game brings together selected players from across all CVHA U18 teams, giving them the opportunity to compete alongside their peers and celebrate their achievements as members of the Association. Each player selected to participate received a commemorative keepsake jersey, recognizing their dedication, effort, and commitment throughout the season. The game itself was played in a competitive yet respectful spirit, reflecting the values CVHA strives to instill in its players.

This year’s event was made even more special by the leadership behind the benches. CVHA was proud to recognize and appoint two outstanding volunteers as Head Coaches for the All-Star Game: Mike Eckler and Ryan Prince. Both coaches have given countless hours to the development of young hockey players in Vaughan and have consistently demonstrated excellence as coaches, mentors, and role models within our program.
Mike Eckler and Ryan Prince exemplify what it means to be a CVHA volunteer — passionate about the game, committed to player development, and deeply invested in creating a positive experience for every athlete they work with. Their selection as All-Star Head Coaches was a reflection of the respect they have earned from players, families, and fellow coaches across the Association.
The U18 CVHA All-Star Game continues to be a cornerstone event within Hockey Day in Vaughan, celebrating player achievement, coaching excellence, and the strong sense of community that makes CVHA special. Congratulations to all the players selected, and a sincere thank you to Coach Eckler, Coach Prince, and all of the volunteers who helped make Hockey Day in Vaughan another tremendous success.
CVHA looks forward to continuing this proud tradition in the years ahead.
