The Return of Hockey in Vaughan!! The City of Vaughan Hockey Association is excited to role out our 2020/21 House League program, based on the most recent Return to Play Guidelines introduced by the Greater Toronto Hockey League (Governing Body). The guidelines include various new and different ways in which we will operate and the structure of the program itself. All safety practices and procedures for on and off ice activities within the facilities will be in compliance with the York Region Public Health COVID 19 protocol.

The safety and well being of our participants and volunteers will be paramount at all times. Hockey will look a little different this season from the prospective of fewer participants on teams and fewer players participating in the on-ice activities at any one time.

For the age divisions of Under 9 years old, there will be a maximum of 15 participants per team. And for the 10 years and older age divisions, the maximum participants per team is 10. The scrimmages/games will be comprised of a 4 on 4 format.

To start the season, there will be a restriction of one parent/caregiver accompanying the participant into the facility, until such a time that the Public Health protocol in relation to COVID 19 is updated.

The season will commence on October 10th and finish the end of March. The season will be divided into two sessions, FALL - October to December, and WINTER - January to March. For most divisions there will be over 40 on ice sessions throughout the season, offering two on ice activities a week.

Registration for the FALL session will commence on Tuesday September 8th. The Winter session registration is still to be determined. There is a slight increase in this season’s registration, for which was required to offset the cost associated with fewer players on each team. Having said that, the amount of time the players are on the ice throughout the on-ice activities and the participation within those activities, will be far greater than the previous years formats. Instructional coach to player ratio will also be less, creating a superior environment and opportunity for player development.

We are committed to ensuring the participants be in a Safe, Fun and Enjoyable environment, while creating Memories and Friendships to last a lifetime.
