CVHA Playoffs Are Here!
Submitted By CVHA OFFICE on Tuesday, February 11, 2020
The CVHA Playoffs are starting this weekend for the Minor Atom to Minor Bantam divisions!  After an action packed regular season we move into playoff mode with the round robin games.  Playoff schedules are now live on our site!

The regular season for several divisions came to an end this past weekend, and has set the stage for the round robin playoffs.  In some divisions, tie-breakers were used to adjust the standings, so if you notice your team in a different slot to start the playoffs, that is why.  The following were the tie-breakers used:

Regular Season Tie-Breakers
1. Most wins
2. If 2 teams are still tied: Head to Head Wins
3. If 3 or more teams are tied, or if point 2 above did not break tie: GF% as per website
4. Coin Toss
Playoff Format

Teams will play a round robin against each team in order to seed teams going forward.  In the Minor Atom, Atom, Minor Peewee and Peewee divisions, the top 2 teams will get a bye into the semi-finals, with the remaining 4 teams playing an elimination game (3v6, 4v5) to see who joins them.  Winners of the semifinals will play in the Gold medal game, while the teams that lost will play in the Bronze medal game on Championship Sunday!

In the Minor Bantam division, teams will play each other twice for seeding purposes.  The semifinal games will see 1v4 and 2v3.  The winners will play in the Gold medal game and the teams that lost will play in the Bronze medal game on Championship Sunday!

Minor Midget starts their playoffs on March 8 and will have the same format as the Minor Atom/Atom/MPW/PW divisions.  The Midget division starts February 23 where each team will play each other once.  The top 8 teams move on to the quarterfinals, with the winners advancing to the semis.  Winners will play in the Gold medal game while the other two teams will play in the Bronze medal game.
