Volunteer Association Night
Submitted By CVHA OFFICE on Tuesday, January 28, 2020
Yes, it is that time of year again.....the City of Vaughan Hockey Association's, “Volunteer Appreciation Night” on Wednesday, February 5.  As you know, we host this event annually to acknowledge and show our appreciation for none other than “you”, the “Volunteer”...for generously devoting your time, your commitment to the program, your contribution to the development of the players skills, life lessons learned, and at the same time creating a memorable experience for all.

This year has been a significantly eventful season. Over and above the many practices, league games and tournaments, we had also:

•  Hosted the Toronto Marlies Community practice, to include a return visit to attend a Marlies game at the Coca Cola Coliseum.

•  We hosted Rogers Hometown Hockey “Vaughan” and let the Nation know how involved a hockey community we really are!!

•  Leading up to the Rogers Hometown Hockey weekend, we were actively involved in various activities to promote the event, to include; The flag raising ceremony at Vaughan City Hall, participating in the Vaughan Santa Fest Parade, pre-Hometown Hockey celebrations at Nathan Phillip Square involving our Bantam AA team skating with Shayne Corson and several other kids from the program were guests of Tara Slone and Ron MacLean at the Maple Leaf outdoor practice.

•  Our Hockey Day in Vaughan event with the Stanley Cup on-site and our annual Rangers Banner Ceremony coinciding with the Rogers Hometown Hockey weekend with Tara Slone in attendance, was a terrific success and enjoyed by all.

But of course, we aren’t done yet! There are many house league, Select and Rep games to be played, whether teams jockeying for playoff spots or simply playing out a fun filled season. We will be hosting our annual House League Championship Day in early March and to cap off our memorable season, we will be hosting the Bantam AA Ontario Hockey Championship over the April 10-12 weekend at the Al Palladini Community Arena. We could never consider hosting any of these many events without the support and involvement of our wonderful volunteer base.

Therefore, to show our appreciation for all you do, on behalf of all the children/players and parents within the CVHA, we would like to invite you to join us on Wednesday February 5, 2020 to celebrate “you” the “Volunteer”, for the significant role you play, in creating the memories for which will last these children a lifetime.

There will be many dignitaries in attendance to share their appreciation with you, as well as a special guest speaker (for which you will not be disappointed!!), door prizes and gifts for all.  House League team officials/volunteers are to forward your names through the coach to your convenor and all Select, A and AA team manager sare required to forward the names of all team officials attending, directly to Lucio at the CVHA office. RSVP by Wednesday January 29th, 2020.  There will be no House league, Select or Rep games that evening, as we have created the exemption for everyone to be in attendance.

Looking forward to seeing everyone!!
