President's 2021-22 Year End Message
Our 2021/22 season is officially in the books!! An unprecedented season, which began with significant uncertainties and mandated protocols. Mandated protocols that directly impacted the participation of some players, parents and volunteers. It also had a significant impact as to how the program and league conducted their business.

The CVHA is truly grateful and appreciative to the committed players, parents and volunteers who not only registered to participate in a program with all the uncertainties for which we faced at the beginning of the season, but also assisting in the many ways and capacities to make sure all procedures and protocols were followed, to be able to continue to keep these kids on the ice in a safe enjoyable environment throughout the season.

Taking on responsibilities as volunteers in such unprecedented times was challenging. But we are thankful for the volunteers and team officials/convenors/delegates that stepped up as "Safety Reps", in making sure association, team and individual protocols were followed, so as the kids had the safest of environments for which to participate. I would also like to thank our CVHA Executive Board and Office Staff that took on many different responsibilities and did not waver in completing the tasks and following the mandated guidelines to get us through the challenging times and committed to completing the season. On behalf of the players and parents…..THANK YOU.

Although a late start in the commencing of the program in September/October, and a cancellation of the program’s activities for the month of January, the CVHA was able to secure additional ice through the City of Vaughan and extend the program into April, to make sure we were in a position to complete our scheduled season. Fortunately, /unfortunately, the January cancellation also impacted our Vaughan Ranger program for which some teams’ divisional finals were completed as recent as Sunday (May 15th).

After coming off a year of no organized hockey (2020/2021), we were pleased to have been in a position to not only operate our program, but we were grateful to have been in a position to host our many events without restriction, House League Championship Day, our Ranger and House League Banquets and our Volunteer Appreciation Night to name a few. We are hopeful to be in a position next season to be able to organize and see these events through without impacts or uncertainties, in creating the best experience for all CVHA players, parents and volunteers.

For what we have all experienced this past season, we are all Champions!! Having said that, I would like to acknowledge all the House League Champions crowned on Championship Day, our four NYHL Champions, U8 Red Tier 1, U13 Red Tier 2, U14 Black Tier 3 & U15 Blue Tier 1, the seven GTHL League Champions, U11A, U11AA, U12AA, U13A, U15A, U16A & U17A and our U11A "City Champions" terrific accomplishments …."CONGRATULATIONS" to all.

Looking to next season, we would like to welcome and congratulate the U14-U18 Ranger players signed at our most recent "AA" and "A" tryouts and wish the players participating in our Ranger Select U14-18 Tryouts currently taking place. Please visit our website Select Tryouts Schedule for details. Tryouts for our Ranger U10-U13 "AA" & "A" and our Ranger U7-U13 Select programs will take place in the Fall, please visit our website for the postings of these tryouts later in the summer.

House League Registration is now open!! Please visit our website and do not lose out on an Early Bird Registration opportunity to secure a spot for next season, as we anticipate a spike in registration and opportunities may be limited. Click here for link to Registration.

In closing I would like to thank our Board Members who have taken on the many different roles and responsibilities to see this season through…. Ron Romano, Joe DiMaria, Anthony Magagna, Jason Cohn, Tony Spagnuolo, Emilio Carinci, Gianni De Franco and Laurie Morris. Also, our office staff of Paola Visentin, Lucio Tersigni and Nina Katzman, for all they do and continue to do for the betterment of the program.
