HOUSE LEAGUE REGISTRATION TO OPEN SEPT. 8
Submitted By CVHA OFFICE on Wednesday, September 2, 2020
THE GTHL has announced their RETURN TO PLAY guidelines for the upcoming 2020-2021 season. The CVHA is excited to get underway and bring back house league hockey for this coming season. We are currently working to establish the framework for the program in anticipation of launching registration as early as September 8 (due to the long weekend).
The GTHL released their long awaited RETURN TO PLAY guidelines on Tuesday, September 1. These guidelines outline how hockey will return based on stages. This was developed by taking into consideration the rules and laws set out by the Province of Ontario and the Ontario Hockey Federation (OHF). More detail can be found on the GTHL site here:

STAGE: WARM-UP
The framework is fluid and will continue to evolve as we progress through the stages. Right now, the CVHA is putting together the first stage of our program to open up registration during the "WARM-UP" period which begins on September 7.
STAGE: PERIOD 1
PERIOD 1 is when we are allowed to start offering on-ice programming, and that is to commence starting October 7 (subject to change). Our house league season will start at this time.
STAGE: PERIOD 2/3
These stages continue to move along the framework for an eventual return to full 5v5 hockey with no restrictions
STAGE: OVERTIME
The OVERTIME stage is when hockey will return to the format that we were all use to with no restrictions.
SAFETY
We continue to work with the GTHL and the City of Vaughan to put in place procedures that will enhance the safety of our players and coaches when we return to the rinks. These procedures are being developed based on the requirements of the Province of Ontario, City of Vaughan, and the GTHL.
Detailed protocols will be released before the return to the ice.
The CVHA is excited to get our players back on the ice. We want to thank everyone for their patience and support as we work through the challenges we face in order to get back to the game of hockey!
More details will be coming very shortly, including the format, dates, safety precautions and registration fees for registration online.
Stay tuned!
