Letter from CVHA President
Submitted By CVHA Office on Monday, June 1, 2020
Dear CVHA Parents,
I hope this email finds everyone safe and well. The past couple
months have been challenging to say the least, throughout these unprecedented
circumstances. It was truly unfortunate that our past season (19/20) came to an
abrupt end without allowing the children and teams to have the opportunity to
take part in a season ending celebration or receive their photo's and trophies.
And while a protocol and easing of restrictions has not yet been established by
Hockey Canada for the 20/21 season, we anxiously await the opportunity to be
able to offer a fun and safe structured program for the children.
The CVHA Office Staff and Board have been actively coordinating and working towards closing out last season and working towards the introduction to next season. The CVHA Office Staff and Board have been actively coordinating and working towards closing out last season and working towards the introduction to next season. Please see the updates below:
Year End Awards and Player Pictures
We are currently working on a plan for distribution of Year End Awards and team pictures. We are hoping that restrictions will open soon allowing us to schedule pick up dates at local arenas. Again, this will only happen when is safe to do so without putting anyone at risk and adhering to all the government social distancing requirements. Updates to follow!
Parent Banquet Ticket Reimbursements
By this time most of you have received your CVHA House League Banquet parent ticket reimbursement. You will be receiving 1 cheque per player that you purchased tickets for. As an example, if you purchased tickets for more than 1 banquet as you have more than 1 child playing hockey with us you will be reimbursed separately for each child and receive 2 cheques. If you do not have your cheque by June 5, 2020 please contact our Office [email protected] via email. To assist us, please include the following information in your email: Player name, Player year of birth, Team name, home address, phone number.
AGM
At this time due to the ongoing concerns surrounding the COVID 19 Pandemic, and in order to comply with social distancing requirements as set out by the Ontario Government, we have found it necessary to postpone the CVHA Annual General Meeting.
The AGM will be held when we can once again hold a public gathering/meeting in a safe environment. As soon as a new date is established it will be posted to the website.
Pre- Registration for 2020-21 Now Open!
City of Vaughan Hockey Association and the GTHL are collectively working towards a safe return-to-hockey plan. As eager as we are for Hockey to return this will only happen when, Hockey Canada, Provincial and Municipal health authorities deem it safe to do so.
With this in mind the CVHA will be opening House League Pre-Registration the week of June 1st. There will be NO COST for the Pre-Registration, and you will not be required to pay any fees at this time. This is a no risk opportunity for you to hold your child's spot.
How this works. Click Pre-Registration Link below, fill out and submit. You will receive a verification of pre-registration. The CVHA will send you the necessary links to complete your Registration, submit fees once the Governing Bodies announce a Hockey start date. Fees will be developed based on Start/End Dates and program opportunities that best represent the House League Hockey experience for the 2020-21 season as per direction from our Governing Bodies, the OHF and the GTHL.
NEW this season!! In addition, the CVHA will be offering a staggered payment plan fee structure to assist and offset the financial challenges of the past few months.
